Each month I feature a quick pick computer. This is the computer that I would buy for myself or recommend to any friends or family that asked for advice. This is an average computer to meet the needs of home use. It’s great for Internet surfing, sending email, writing papers or documents, and downloading and storing pictures from a digital camera. It’s also great for students to use for various school assignments.
This month’s pick is the HP G60-630US. I’m choosing this model because of it’s great price and good configuration. This model is sold on Amazon for less than the HP Store price. It’s running an average dual core processor, comes with an average amount of memory , and has a good sized hard drive. This laptop is ready to go with no upgrades recommended.
The Amazon Sale Price is $529.99. This model is a good “value” laptop. It’s not the best or the fastest, but rather a good buy for the money. It will handle most any home use activities.
Overall, the reviews on Amazon are very positive. The only poor reviews are related to the internal microphone. If you are planning to use the internal microphone, you may want to steer clear of the model. If you are a heavy microphone user, or plan to use this for Skype Internet calls, I recommend getting a USB microphone headset combo.
Technical Details

(Any DVD will work in this drive but it requires light scribe compatible DVDs to enable the light scribe labeling.)
